CareBOS LLC ("CareBOS", "we") wants everyone who touches our software — agency office staff, caregivers, applicants, and families — to be able to use it, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology.
Our standard
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That commitment covers:
- This website (carebos.com)
- The agency back-office application
- The caregiver portal, including phone sign-in and clocking in and out
- The online job application
What we do to get there
- Every screen is checked against WCAG 2.1 AA with automated auditing tools as it's built, and the whole product is re-audited when the design changes.
- Our design system enforces the essentials by default: text colors that meet contrast requirements, form fields programmatically connected to their labels, visible keyboard focus, status messages announced to screen readers, and pages that work at high zoom and on small screens.
- Interfaces are written in plain language — the same words your office and your caregivers actually use.
Known limitations
We're honest about the edges we're still working on:
- Generated documents (pay stubs, invoices, tax worksheets) are produced as visual PDFs and may not read smoothly in every screen reader. If you need any document in an accessible format, ask — see below — and we'll provide one.
- The visit map is a visual tool; the information it shows (a client's address and clock-in area) is always also available as text on the same screen.
Compatibility
CareBOS works with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox, on desktop and mobile, and is tested with the built-in screen readers on those platforms (VoiceOver, TalkBack, Narrator). No plug-ins are required.
